In 1960, the first crates of eggs were loaded for delivery under the Smelkinson name. It was a modest start rooted in a simple, timeless necessity: getting farm-fresh products to those who needed them. Today, that mission remains unchanged, but the scale has grown into a global legacy. 

A Foundation Built on Three Generations

Smelkinson Foods is more than a company; it is a family timeline. For over 60 years, the business has been passed down through three generations of Smelkinsons, each adding a new chapter of innovation while preserving the integrity of the original vision. After selling off the local distribution company, known as Smelkinson Brothers, to Sysco in 1985, Smelkinson Foods evolved but maintained its core egg trading business supplying farm fresh eggs to retail, export and foodservice customers.  

This continuity of leadership is a rarity in today’s fast-paced market. It means that when you partner with us, you are benefiting from over six decades of institutional knowledge. Under the current leadership of Dan Smelkinson, we have bridged the gap between old-world reliability and modern-day efficiency, ensuring the company doesn't just survive the changing times—it leads them.
